My exploration of dream worlds led to the creation of this series of donkey sculptures. The distinctive design – fire – reflects the transformation of the subject, the body. I use a surreal aesthetic to challenge conventional notions of the body.
Dreams are often the starting point for my artistic work. Dreams are the link to the invisible, subterranean worlds. When transforming the dreamt, a spontaneous gesture is important, with eyes half-open, half-closed.
Then I go into the forest and collect resin from the trees to create a special mixture for my sculptures, which is used to refine the surface.

Paints and plant based rasins produced according to my own recipe, bronzed. The surface was brushed and carbonized using the Shou Sugi Ban technique and finished with shellac.
