This is the first cat sculpture in an emerging series on the theme of Egyptian cat mummies. It is dedicated to the cats that once lived in Egypt and were later mummified. The sculpture draws on ancient Egyptian aesthetics and breathes new life into the long gone cats. This cat is sleeping and dreaming.

Wood: Oak from Lower Austria, Austria.

The surface was carbonized using the Shou Sugi Ban technique. Parts are painted by self-made distemper and finished with shellac.
